Template Documentation (Developers)

Welcome to Redbeck Wiki: Template Documents. This is an information source covering Redbeck Products, including technical wiki entries to assist developers in understanding and using the Redbeck PHP Template Framework

Redbeck software is built around a series of editable PHP templates. These template files are mainly built using HTML code, but also include references to PHP calls made to the Redbeck software library. These PHP calls pull in modules and data into each template page to construct the overall website.

Developers can create their own custom PHP functions and modules to overwrite our library functions, completely customising their online store to their own specification.

Important Notice: It is advised that you are proficient with HTML and have a very basic understanding of PHP if you wish to edit store templates. Technical support is not provided for template assistance to end users, however this guide will be self explanatory to developers. Please edit templates at your own risk, and remember to backup any template files prior to making changes. If you use your own template, you will be required to make any updates and changes that we may issue from time to time.

Most reseller installs such as x2tek from JLT will not have their own dedicated template system, as they use the default main template that we manage ourselves. It is advised you use the default template if you don't feel confident managing your own template install.
